Just read a great tutorial on using Genymotion with Android Studio. I won’t bother re-printing it all.
- First, install VirtualBox
- Next, install Genymotion (must create an account) and install it
- Next, in Android Studio:
- Android Studio -> Preferences -> Plugins -> Browse Repositories -> Genymotion
- Restart Android Studio
- Next, run Genymotion and create a new Virtual Device
- You will be prompted to install Android AVD’s, install whatever you need
- Click “Play” to start your installed AVD
- You will get a dialog asking for an Android SDK directory
- By default, I was able to use: “/Applications/Android Studio.app/sdk”
- Once you have set that, click “Play” to start again
- Once your Genymotion emulator starts, click “Run” in Android Studio
- Your Genymotion emulator should appear in the list of available devices to run on
